'Italy at a Snail's Pace' tells the tale of an eccentric couple making an eccentric journey in an eccentric car - first from the centre of France to Piedmont in Italy, and then from the hip to the toe of Italy. Driving only on the tiniest roads possible, their route takes them way off the beaten track, enabling them to appreciate the real Italy, including stunning countryside as well as memorable food.
Peter and Carolyn Bear are painters and writers who have been married for ages.
