Journey of Abhira

"A miracle started her tale." A senseless assault on the Caribbean island of Saint Domingue, which is engulfed in the flames of revolution, leaves only one survivor-a young girl. She ends up in the care of Henri and Solange Fournier, two French emigrants, who transport the lovely child they name Ruth to the bustling American city of Savannah.
