Jorja is an Australian consultant working within the Ministry of Education in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, post 9-11, during a tense period in Pakistan and India's dramatic history.

Jorja is caught in a world where the boundaries between friendship, love and isolation are inextricably entwined. To the locals, Jorja is the perception of exotic foreign allure, the prospect of sponsorship and money, and an avenue to escape hardship. For Jorja, as she tries to maintain a long-distance relationship with Denny, who remains in Australia, Kashmir forces her to balance her own conflicting and divergent emotions, often precariously, but always with an impact of profound proportions.
