"Lifting as They Climb is a love letter of freedom and self-expression from six Black women Buddhist teachers, conveyed through the voice of one of the many women who has benefitted from their wisdom. Toni Pressley-Sanon offers rich opening and closing chapters about the emergence of Black Buddhism as part of a long history of Black liberation in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world.
