But she fought to get an education. From walking long hours to get to school since she was in the first grade, until she finished high school, Nimenya's education journey is a story of courage, perseverance and never giving up.
In "A Long Way to School," Nimenya shares the challenges she had to overcome from her formative years, and now, she wants middle school and high school age children to benefit from her experiences and be inspired and empowered in rising above their own adversities in school and in their personal lives.
