Looking for Derek

A vivid and dreamlike account of a journey made to Prospect Cottage and garden, Dungeness, Kent, England in August 2022. It is both a meditation on the life and legacy of Derek Jarman, his renowned career as an artist, writer and film-maker and lament for a lost generation. The bleak landscape of Dungeness, dreamily familiar and yet dislocated at the same time. Vast, empty and intense all at once. While present in every fold and drape of the landscape, the nuclear Camelot keeps a silent watch moored in the firmament. An omnipresent ghost beached in the wilderness with a toxic haze that dazzles as it blows across the Ness.
