Maiden and the Mermaid

Ula, a mermaid princess, was always fascinated with the world above; watching human society from the safety of shore lines. And Danika, an albino woman living in a tower, considered the ocean her only friend. One day, Ula saves the life of a drowning Danika and both girls have their words turned upside down. Fae and mortals are never to interact. It never ends well, for any involved.
Still, the two girls become friends and share their lives, fears, desires with one another. The bond they cultivate is strong; stronger than anything they've felt for another. Feelings are difficult to understand at times, but both know they'd be willing to do anything for one another.
Just as the answer to the question is relieved, dark secrets, a hidden past, and motherly strafes come to light; nearly suffocating the bud of the freshly blooming relationship. Danika must face her roots and Ula must make a great sacrifice.
