Molly McGolly and Mother Nature

About Molly McGolly and Mother Nature

Molly McGolly is a little ten-year-old Irish American Catholic girl who attends public school. She decides this is the year to teach her classmates to become eco-friendly like her family. Molly discovers trying to change people is a much bigger task than she ever imagined. Catholics are reminded of the truths of their faith (scripture passages, sacraments, prayers, Ten Commandments, Divine Mercy, Eucharistic Adoration etc...) throughout the book as the humorous story unfolds. After almost the entire school year of being a good example and monthly 'green' projects; Molly pretends to be 'Mother Nature Come Alive' during an oral report in front of the class. Surprisingly, even to Molly herself, on Earth Day everything she foretold started to come true. Earth Day turned out to be A DAY OF MIRACLES (NO MAGIC)! Nature seemed to reward those who treated the earth and all living things well all year...or punish those who did damage or were indifferent to the earth and its inhabitants. It was kind of like 'Judgment Day' of the 'green' kind. Earth Day is also the day the McGolly family log cabin lodge was completed and everyone celebrated!
