Mysterious Ways

About Mysterious Ways

In his life Jesus met numerous people. For many of them we only read about the incident recorded in the bible and we are left wondering what happened to them. For example, what future had the woman caught in adultery? Her life was saved by Jesus' intervention but she was left without money, without a home and without any means of support? Or Barabbas? He was saved by Jesus taking his place on the Cross but did he go back to his life of crime? What did Elizabeth really feel about becoming a mother for the first time in old age? It is obvious that the authors of the gospels had not been in contact with many of the people whose stories are told in the gospels since their encounter with Jesus. They use the stories to create the picture of Jesus that they want. They cannot therefore describe the feelings of the people about whom they write. In contrast this book imagines the impact Jesus had on the people he met. Most of the stories are told in the first person so that the reader can understand what the characters were feeling as the events described take place.
