Most of the world knows about the six million Jewish people that were exterminated by the German Government during World War II, but many people do not know that the Nazis also persecuted black German children by arresting, branding and castrating them. Samuel was a black U.S. soldier stationed in Germany after World War I who fell in love with Ingrid, a young German woman. This book is about the tragedies resulting from Samuel's quest for racial equality, his forbidden love with Ingrid, and racism by Nazis and Americans.
