About "Now There Happened to Be a Certain Man of Ramathaimzophim," poetry
[The editors at Academic Exchange Extra (University of Northern Colorado [Greeley, CO]) accepted "Now There Happened to Be a Certain Man of Ramathaimzophim" for publication (2010), but shortly thereafter the journal went on an indefinite Sabbatical.] First Edition: LukivPress Online (Quesnel, BC), 2010. Revised Edition: LukivPress (Victoria, BC), 2022. Introduction First Samuel, written by Samuel, Nathan, and Gad, covers 102 years (1180 to 1078 BCE), and describes four leaders: Samuel and Eli (judges) and Saul and David (kings). David's courage finds its opposite in Eli's cowardice and Samuel's obedience finds its opposite in Saul's disobedience. This book of good examples versus bad defines Israel's historical end of the period called the Judges (approximately 300 years) and the start of kingships that, in essence, reflect the nation's rejection of Jehovah's direct theocratic rule.
