Everyone is there and you need to be aggressive in all aspects of doing business with these vendors and account executives. It is definitely a different ball game in New York City as compared to the other metropolises in the country. I feel bittersweet about this industry because it is such a competitive career. If there's a felt need to kill each other, we will kill each other for the sake of promotion. I learned a lot from them especially when it comes to time management and conflict resolution. I became very aggressive too and very colorful when it comes to dealing with different kinds of people from different walks of life.
