Marine Jackson Polk, severely wounded in the Korean War, finds himself stateside without a future, one he must find on his own if he is to survive. His journey for a new life leads him from Paterson, New Jersey, to Atlanta, Miami, Cuba and Key West, forcing him to make hard choices along the way in pursuit of his destiny.
