Out of Darkness

Eighteen months of misogyny and racism at the hands of her superior officer, drive DCI Helene Mackay of the Metropolitan Police to accept an offer to lead a new crime fighting initiative. Invidia is a government-sponsored clandestine unit operating on the fringes of the law and sometimes beyond.
Before they are fully operational, Helene and her team are tasked with a case when a shallow grave containing several young Asian women is found.
Still wracked with self-doubt she is unsure she will be able to rise to the occasion; reinforced when she discovers her former boss is linked to the new unit.
Helene knows she must overcome this and lead her team to catch the killers before they strike again
