Briony is a boring teenage girl - with nothing interesting about her at all.

Though Adam doesn't think she's boring. She met him on the internet. And she really likes him. So she arranges to meet him.

But Adam isn't who he says he is.

He lures her to a hotel room with promises of romance, then locks the door and brutally assaults her. Briony is forced to act, and kills him in a violent act of self-defence.
