Gallie is fifteen, living in Timbertown, and at a crossroads in her life. Her father is a master Alchemist, her brother a journeyman soon to become a master, too. Will Gallie enter the Trades and join the Guilds, or will she
become a housewife or an old maid?
After war and a plague, wealth is flowing around the lands, but is everyone content? Drifters from outside the old Kingdom have come seeking their fortunes, but are all of them trustworthy, or are they rogues, scoundrels or spies of the Ivy Empire?
