Prefeasibility analysis for the implementation of a wind farm

Prefeasibility analysis for the implementation of a wind farmBy Edison Alcivar
About Prefeasibility analysis for the implementation of a wind farm

This book analyzes the prefeasibility of implementing a wind farm in Sevilla de Oro. The energy generated from this wind farm will be connected to the distribution system of an electric company, through the application of distributed generation, taking into account the current regulations in Ecuador. The first chapter contains the context, objectives, scope, justification and background. In chapter two, a conceptual framework is created covering concepts such as non-conventional renewable energies, wind energy, wind turbines, average wind speed levels and wind systems already built in the country, distributed generation. In the third, an analysis of the wind resource profile was carried out with data measured in situ and with meteorological data obtained from NASA (POWER), a regression and cointegration analysis was carried out and an empirical model was proposed to correct the annual meteorological data. In the fourth chapter, the wind resource present at the site was evaluated and the existing potential was determined using WAsP software. In chapter 5, a cost and profitability analysis is presented. Finally, conclusions are presented.
