This is a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional and retrospective study carried out in the Transfusion Transmissible Infections Laboratory (ITT) of the Hemotherapy and Immunohematology Unit of the General Hospital of Acute Diseases Juan. A. Fernández General Hospital belonging to the GCABA.The purpose of this work is to study the average prevalence of the mandatory screening diseases in blood and platelet donors, in accordance with the requirements of the National Blood Law and its regulations.This study, which was carried out on 44244 first-time donations made during the period 2006-2017, allows characterizing such population according to the variables sex, age, place of residence and origin according to birth of the Donors.This provides new health knowledge for the prevention and detection of TTI cases, leading to preventive interventions for new cases and access to specific treatment and follow-up for those affected. It is also useful for planning the necessary resources for this type of intervention.
