Mandy hated birthdays. Everything that was bad in her life happened to her then, such as her parents killed in a car accident, her dog died, she broke her arm, her boyfriend broke up with her. So why was she feeling so excited when she woke up on her seventeenth birthday?
Racing down the stairs to get her presents, she found a message from her aunt on the kitchen table. It told her that under no circumstances should she leave the house until she had spoken to her.
This was puzzling. What was so important that her aunt needed to tell her? Why couldn't she leave the house? When two police officers knocked on the front door. her whole life was about to change. She was soon to be thrust into a world of witches, shifters and demons that she had previously had no knowledge of.
