The story of a country in crisis, people torn apart and the anchor of a little child's life - the bond with her grandmother, her mentor and her mainstay. Rebellious & Resilient takes us into the life of an Ethiopian family centered on their matriarch, who they must take the heartbreaking decision to leave for a life in Europe. We follow their journey through the eyes and heart of their eldest daughter, Yene, who is torn from her identity as a cherished child in a close community, to live as a stranger in a strange land. Part biography, part autobiography, this is a timeous reminder of what individuals experience when they must leave their homelands.
