- Written in Layman's Terms, Volume 1

part of the Volume 1 series

About Revelation

Revelation: Written in Layman’s Terms, Volume 1, covers chapters 1–19; however, chapters 4 and 5 deals with events in heaven. Chapters 6–19 deal with events on earth in detail, such as the significance of the seventy weeks and the beginning of the Tribulation period. In chapter 1:3, it states: “Blessed is he that 1) readeth, and they that 2) hear the words of this prophecy, and 3) keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” The blessing of verse 3 has a threefold condition: 1) read the book, 2) hear (understand) it; and 3) keep (obey) it. The essential nature of prophecy was the communication of new truth (divine revelation). God has given it to be obeyed, not simply to be discussed and debated. The time is at hand in the sense that nothing else now has to occur before the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation period (1 Thess. 4:13–18), same as Rev. 4:1.
