Riona Watkins, a sociologist from New York, has always been unlucky in love. When her work takes her to Ireland, the birthplace of her mother, she meets Emrys Kane, a mysterious man with piercing green eyes who comes to her rescue when she is harassed by a male colleague in a local pub.
