Kelly Canyon's grandmother, Ruthie, is finally achieving her dream and receiving a lifetime achievement award for her years of acting. Unfortunately, someone wants Ruthie dead and takes a shot at her while she's standing on stage. Pandemonium reigns as Brock Hanson, Kelly's famous boyfriend, tackles Ruthie to the floor.
Kelly finds the dead body of the theater's janitor in a darkened hallway and clues lead to the man's death being linked to the murder of Kelly's father years before, and it seems Ruthie knows something she isn't aware she knows. Someone is taking protection money to turn a blind eye to the movie studio owner's nefarious deeds.
The closer Kelly and her trusted friends get to finding the dirty cop who killed her father, the more the danger grows. Kelly finds herself on the run and in the protection of an unlikely angel.
