Son of a Spy

Brought up by parents who worked for M.I.5, Desmond read many of the books on espionage written by war-time agents, and while he was still at school he began to practise some of the techniques he had read about.
However, an experience during his days at university caused him to reject the idea of following in his father's footsteps. Nevertheless, throughout his career, he was repeatedly faced with situations similar to those encountered professionally by his father.
