How the cognitive development of young adolescents can be integrated into a teaching plan, and thus the learning process, is the theme of this book. Each chapter presents theory on the learning needs of children aged between 10 and 14 which is then tied to specific practice application.
With vignettes illustrating the theory in practice, the author presents specific teaching strategies for setting expectations and standards, teaching for thinking, assessing student performance and extending the classroom to the real world.
