About Sweet Second Chances Books 1-3
Three Retellings of Jane Austen's Persuasion.
A Second Chance in Somerset
When Anne Elliot goes to stay with her sister and brother-in-law at Uppercross, little does she realise that she's been the subject of discussion between Charles and Mary, who have both decided to spend the winter finding Anne a suitable husband. Neither know her heart was lost long ago...
Captain Frederick Wentworth is happy to stay with his sister at Kellynch Hall if Anne Elliot is gone, although being back in Somerset torments him with memories he'd thought long forgotten. When he meets Anne again, he is determined to leave the past in the past, but Charles and Mary Musgrove have other ideas.
A New Life in London
When Sir Walter Elliot dies, his two unmarried daughters are swiftly and unceremoniously evicted from Kellynch by their cousin. Taking refuge in London they settle the last of their father's affairs - while taking heed to their own.
Elizabeth Elliot is determined to marry well and will make every use of this last chance she has for herself and, when Anne is not suitably concerned with her own future, for her sister too. Fate sees fit to help her, by causing a handsome figure form Anne's past to cross their paths again.
A Reunion in Bath
Anne Elliot reunites with her family eager to put her past behind her, where it belongs. Her future may not be happy but at least it is predictable, and her present is vastly improved by a growing friendship with her father's cousin, the amiable Mr Elliot.
Free of obligations, Captain Frederick Wentworth arrives in Bath unsure what his future holds. Seeing Anne again convinces him there is none for him but her, but is he too late?
