About Take the Turtles to the Country
Our father when we were young made up songs to entertain us in all situations. A long car ride was a piece of cake when we were singing. On rainy days he'd raise the roof with singing when he came home from work. And when we were sad, he had a song for that as well. This song was the first of many that he wrote for his five children. This first song was written for me when I was just two years old. On this dark evening I was very sad and confused. My dad sang this song to me giving me hope for my new friends and peace as I went home to bed. Since that night this song has been sung to all five of his children, grandchildren, and now his great-grandchildren. It was a simple message I have treasured from a short and seemingly insignificant moment in my childhood. This message grew in my heart while God placed a truth deep in my soul. Join me as I tell the story that's been shared hundreds of times creating such an impact on many. This book I wrote is a story I experienced, the song my daddy fashioned for my comfort, along with the sketches my little brother added to illustrate as he visualized them from only hearing it told to him. This truly is a family effort. I pray you and your children are blessed through this short story.
