Tantra

Tantra has been regarded as a hidden cult in India, particularly because it subverts the conventional yogic doctrine that puts spirit above and beyond the material realm by sanctifying the human body and its energies. Tantra, on the other hand, is discreetly embraced even by traditional religious people, largely because Tantric rituals are recognized for bestowing unique abilities and powers. This brief work introduces the reader to the underlying philosophy, cosmology, and theology of the Tantric path, while exploring the emphasis on the Supreme Goddess in ritual, rites, beliefs, and practices.
