Tears of Contrition

Tears of Contrition is a biography of John N. Maffitt (1819-1886), an American naval officer and Confederate naval commander during the American Civil War. The book includes personal recollections of Maffitt's life and reflections on his religious and moral beliefs. The appendix includes a number of Maffitt's poems.
