Roué Hupsel is widely recognized in Suriname, South America as the creator of popular radio shows. He began writing short stories in 2002, and since then he has won several literary awards. He received the prestigious SCHADUWPRIJS 2005 by the Society of Dutch Crime Authors for his debut and top-ranking thriller BLINDE MUREN (BLIND WALLS). In 2005 he published a dark thriller ZWARTE MAGIE (BLACK MAGIC). In 2007 he returned with the eco-thriller and bestseller DE GROENE OORLOG (THE GREEN WAR). Roué published many short stories in Suriname, The Netherlands, Belgium, the Caribbean, and South Africa.
Roué Hupsel is a member of the Society of Dutch Crime Authors, and Writers' Group 77.
