About The ART OF DYING

In The Art of Dying, a man who has lived his life in bad faith is determined to use the time left to redeem himself. If I Had My Way in this Wicked World chronicles the life of a ten-year-old boy raised by his cruel, dysfunctional grandparents and his kind-hearted great aunt. The Visit takes place during the Civil War. A confederate soldier temporarily deserts his unit to see his son for the first time. In The Importance of Living a Meaningful Life, a middle-aged man, recently fired from his job and divorced by his second wife, attempts to figure out if it's worth transitioning from his former bullshit life to a meaningful life. In A Triumph of Spirit, a young girl who has been teased and mistreated by other children but who is loved by her flawed, but kind-hearted father, overcomes a devastating situation with his help. In You've Gotta Stand Up, a fifth-grade boy is inspired by his Communist grandmother to stand up to his Catholic school teacher and express himself in accord with his own beliefs. A New Orleans Life is a novella taking place in the early1960s, involving a mixed-race young man and his deep-South girlfriend, who work to save their relationship after she learns of his background. Biloxi: A Return Home is a novella about a man in dysfunctional relationships with his two ex-wives, his daughter, and his two grandchildren, who returns to his hometown after almost fifty years, and with the help of his high school best friend, gradually resolves some of the problems in his life.
