A terrible tragedy leads to a profound love. Tommy is a gay young man who has been homeless since adolescence when his mother died. He has an androgynous beauty that makes it possible for him to present himself as either man or woman in his nomadic life of stealing and prostitution. Just as he has stolen a large amount of money and decided to leave his old life behind, a handsome stranger, Dee, offers him sanctuary and kindness. He accepts but fears Dee's intentions towards him. Dee gives him a new name, Cody, and a new life. Cody falls in love and discovers this man is extremely wealthy and has many secrets to hide from his parents and family in India. Cody soon finds being rich is as much a prison as being poor when Dee's parents arrive unannounced, and Dee must decide whether to hide Cody as he has done with other lovers in the past or proclaim to his parents the truth.
