The Beta's Mate

For Amelia Waters, New creek was supposed to be her sanctuary, a new place for her to start a new life and to escape her dangerous ex-husband. But when she is told by her boss to close the restaurant, she is about to beaten to a pulp by a bunch of guys that were hired by her ex-husband, on her way to the bus stop.
She is rescued by a brooding stranger, who gives her a ride to her place and makes her tea to calm her nerves. From that encounter, she never sees him again. She is afraid that her ex is going to make another move, always watching her back. But even though she is afraid of her ex-husband, the kind, sweet stranger never leaves her mind. She constantly thought of him and what happened to him, but what she doesn't know is always looking out for her from a distance.
But one night, he comes knocking on her door in the middle of the night, badly wounded. She quickly welcomes him to her home and nurses him back to health.
