Agent Lydia Standish and Agent Thomas Gantreau from the Bureau of Magic & Oddities are investigating the cause of an MME (Major Magical Event) at the Black Rock Research and Development facility. There they unearth a plot by a clandestine group known as Manifold to sieze control of the Magical Network that feeds magic to the entire multiverse-finding more questions than answers. Why has magic suddenly stopped working properly? And who is responsible for stealing all of the reserve mana used by wizards and other creatures of lore? What role does the lost Grimorum Verum play? What do game convention promoters Chaos and Order have to do with it? And why are they calling themselves The Vulgate? Are they part of Manifold, or is it bumbling scientist Mort Underwood and his team? And most importantly, what is the Eternal Dragon Tiamat's role in all of this?
