The Children of Santiago

About The Children of Santiago

This is a story about the child and teen spies and assassins, and later as adult ultra-talented spies and commissioned assassins, commonly known as license to kill, of the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s, of international families stationed abroad. Adapted from my original story "The Encyclopedia" (c)1996; it is based on much fact concerning places, travel, events, people, culture (including Third cultured kids), behavior and experiences. It has been described by one publisher as a 'spy-travel-journal-on-steroids' and begins in South America, extending into Africa, United States, Europe and the Mediterranean region. Some of the individual characters are inspired by more than one person and some multiple characters are only one person. The jungle flying was inspired by pilots referred to as Bush Pilots or Jungle Pilots. One of the main characters was inspired by assorted senior Central and South American government officials and military officers, a United States Air Force (USAF) Brigadier General, two USAF Majors, a Royal Air Force Major, and a US Marine Corps Captain. Some of the countries, people and events were altered for the sake of discretion. The characters of the Lions, Tigers and Dragons of Judah, and the Children of Santiago, will remain a book secret. Total Communications Warfare (TCW), or Prime Time Warfare, was a real thesis. I created the concept in the late 70s and early 80s when I was studying Political Science and TV, Film & Radio, including news and news writing, in university, during which an international reporter was murdered in Central America. In theory, the proposal was designed to protect reporters and journalist, utilizing TCW instead of torture and execution. The Children of Santiago replaces, Archangel.
