The Devil's Bones

Migrant workers have made their way to Dukaine, Indiana to pick tomatoes and work in the SunRipe plant in the summer and late fall for decades. The townspeople and the migrants don't mix much, but when they do, there's usually trouble. When a drought exposes the skeleton of a small child, everyone is convinced that the bones belong to Tito Cordova, a half-Mexican boy who disappeared twenty years before. As more secrets are exposed, and the marshal of Dukaine is shot, the investigation is left to the town deputy, Jordan McManus, whose family has its own secrets and close ties to Tito Cordova. Jordan soon finds himself in the crosshairs of an ambitious sheriff and a vengeful killer. Every bit of information Jordan uncovers puts him and the ones he loves in more danger. As the killer closes in, Jordan is left with no choice but to expose everything he knows about himself and those in Dukaine. Some secrets never die.
