The Healer's Song

The Healer's Song is the story of Riann and Zhyan over the years of the pirate war. Riann is the young healer, adopted by Tinker as a child; Zhyan is the Treg songsmith who was her childhood sweetheart and soul bond. Allowed to marry in Kilshandra at the end of Tinker's Tale, this is their journey out into the world as they begin their life both as a married couple and trying to define their roles within the family, within the Tregana tribes and within a world that is slow to accept matches that look as mismatched -- on the surface -- as Riann and Zhyan do. These two are the best and most powerful of what they are but they are up against the judgmental and biased attitudes of peoples who are not as accepting as their own family. The story overlaps with two others, both The Warriors' Dance and the next story to come, as this couple are close in relationship to the sailors of the Swan.
