About The History of Reynard the Fox with Some Account of His Friends and Enemies Turned into English Verse - Illustrated by Walter Crane

First published in 1897, "The History of Reynard the Fox" is a collection of poems by Frederick Startridge Ellis. Frederick Startridge Ellis (1830-1901) was an English bookseller and author. Contents include: "How the Lion, King Nobel, sent out his mandement that all beasts should come to his Court", "The first complaint, made by Isegrym the Wolf against Reynard", "The complaint of Courtoys the Hound", "How Grymbert the Dachs, Reynard's sister's son, spake up for him", "How Chanticlere complained on Reynard", etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with the original text and artwork by Walter Crane.
