Lev Nikolayevich Myshkin, a positively good and beautiful man, sets out on his journey home to Russia after an extended stay at a sanitarium in Switzerland. Open-hearted and somewhat simple, the young prince attempts to be among the people, finding himself in an unfamiliar and immoral society obsessed with money, power, and exploitation.
