Bree is tired of being her sister's keeper, but when she meets the dark and mysterious Layla on their first day of high school, she knows that protecting her sister is going to be an issue. Being a magickal being in a world of humans is difficult, and even more difficult when your mother is Queen of the Fairies. Use of magic in the human realm is forbidden, but no one told Layla that. Bree just doesn't understand why she keeps getting into trouble for what Layla is doing. She's not going to be this girl's keeper, too.
