After his father's death, lonely Charlie receives a letter from his uncle Gordon, living an isolated life with his daughter Mary on this deserted island. Gordon realizes him that he is not alone, Aros is like his home, he can come here to meet, enjoy or settle. After reaching Aros Charlie discovers, his pious uncle is now an alcoholic fellow and involves in crime even like murder. Author describes shipwrecks and picturesque scenes. Author describes off shore rocks as merry men in the book.
