The People Who Built the State of Israel

About The People Who Built the State of Israel

The combined 1950 years, from the Romans to Byzantine, through the Arabs, Christians, and Ottoman rule of the land, the Jews have always been recognized as the people that were descendants of that land. Were it for persecution, emulation, or just recognition. Throughout that entire time, Jews have been praying daily for the redemption of the temple and restoration of the Jewish homeland. Led by Simon Bar-Kokchba, Jews fought the Roman Empire in the years 132 A.D. through 135 A.D. They gained independence for a brief period. It was lost to the Roman Empire in 135 A.D. Since; attempts to regain freedom and re- build the homeland were rarely contemplated, never succeeded and when tried, failed, some-times violently. With the knowledge of the above described, facing the above described challenges and more, Yoseph, Haia and their peers' hearts were set on building, re-claiming a country for the Jews, and a home for their families. It was not simple or easy, but Yoseph, Haia and that special generation had a dream.
