The Ten Pathways

- A Mystical Guide to Recovery and Transformation

About The Ten Pathways

A new spiritual recovery and self improvement system based on the 10 sefirot of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). This book is for three sorts of people: 1) Those who would like to transform their addictive behaviors through an alternative spiritual modality to the 12 steps; 2) Those who are already on a recovery path who may want to supplement their work with an additional tool. 3) Those looking for a spiritual technology to help them fulfill their potential and manifest a creative project. First and foremost, this book provides a spiritual approach to addiction recovery based on teachings from the Kabbalah. It outlines 10 "pathways" that one can follow to transform their addictive patterns. The book also shows how one can use the 10 pathways to manifest a creative project after their addictive patterns have been transformed. Finally, the book contains mystical stories, 10 guidelines for mindful living, and a guide for using the 10 pathways to create a "10 pathways fellowship." The first section, "Ground," provides a general introduction to the 10 Pathways method, its approach to addiction, its history and context, and what brought me in particular to write this book. The second section, "Path," contains a specific introduction to the 10 Pathways and how they can be used to overcome addiction. The third section, "Fruit," contains an explanation of how the Pathways can be used to manifest new possibilities in ones' life, for example, a new creative project or a new way of being. The "Appendices" section contains the 10 Pathways for Groups- a guide for applying the Pathways to the creation of small fellowship groups of people working through the Pathways for similar reasons. This section also contains the 10 Axioms, which are general guidelines for living mindfully and ethically based on the 10 Pathways, the 10 Commandments from the Hebrew Bible, and the 5 Mindfulness Trainings of the Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. In the last appendix sections there are diagrams, a bibliography for those interested in learning more about the sefirot and Kabbalah and a few extra stories.
