She loved her books more than anything else because they allowed her to escape her world and believe that she could fight back against the monsters in it. A world of screams, abuse, addiction, and shattered hearts. A world that told her she was never enough. An ungenuine world that taught her conditions and the sting of betrayal and shame.

Now, at 35, I reflect on the events of my life that helped mold me into the person I am today and the lessons I've learned along the way. This story is about how I, a little girl from a small town in West Virginia, stopped hiding from my past, reclaimed my power, forgave myself, and chose to live happy, successful, and limitless. And how you can too.
