There are some life events that nothing can prepare you for. Steve Balsamo, who grew up in Brooklyn in the 1950s, has had his share of tragedy, struggle and obstacles to overcome. He has faced the challenges of life and business with his head held up, always moving forward, and never giving up and never giving in. He's had his share of fires, floods, strikes and a stabbing. A kid nearly dying in his arms, and narrowly escaped death himself. And of course, there have always been the arguments, conflicts and challenges that every family endures.
