About To Love and Die in Atlanta
The city of Atlanta takes center stage in the next Sa'id Salaam saga. To love and die in Atlanta journals the triumphs and tragedies of the iconic city. Stories ripped from the headlines and real lives of it's inhabitants. Names have been changed but no one is innocent, not in Atlanta.
Volume one chronicles young mother Marquita Williams and her teen aged son Marquis. The dual sport stars gets recruited to schools all over the city. She decides on the wealthy West view suburbs, far from their Southwest neighborhood.
They say good riddance to the crime ridden hood but quickly find out that just because the grass is greener in the burbs it's not without it's own problems. Being a star player opens doors for young Marquis but not everyone is happy to have him.
West view is home to the prim and proper Rollins family. The patriarch Carey senior works like a slave to keep his family in the latest fashions with the latest trappings of wealth. Only to find himself enslaved to the status quo and unhappy. Wife Sinclair only tolerates him while son Carey junior has grown into a stranger.
Volume one is about love and loss, victory and defeat as well as life and death. Turn the page to Love and die in Atlanta.
