Underworld

Joe lives close to a dark and eerie wood. A mining company has been working there, fracking for shale gas. Some of the locals are up in arms about it, but they're not the only ones. Something lives in the wood. Ancient and horrible creatures, who never normally emerge from their underground homes. And they don't like being disturbed.
