Von Berg's War

In 1940, Von Berg, a famous civilian pilot, transfers to the Luftwaffe. His tariff is to fly sixty attacking sorties out into the Atlantic from Bordeaux.
Kreschmer, a senior Gestapo officer, wants him to join the Nazi Party. Von Berg prevaricates, but he has a weakness - his loyalty to Didi, his cousin, an officer on U-Boats.
Didi is enamored by a fascinating gypsy flamenco dancer, Janita, but the task of the Gestapo is to eliminate gipsies. Conflict is inevitable
Inexorably, while fighting the British in the air, Von Berg is sucked into a conflicting world of ideologies and loyalties. The end is brutal.
