My story was inspired by former Governor of Wisconsin Martin Schreibner's My Two Elaines. I saw many parallels between his experience with caregiving and mine. If it happened to a governor, it can surely happen to me, a poor teacher of Spanish.
Not that I'm a bad teacher, but one with low finances. Spanish inverts the two words to make the meaning clear: maestro pobre, pobre maestro.
