Martine DePaul, a brilliant young priest, turns his back on a powerful and wealthy family’s privileged world to become parish priest of an impoverished Indian pueblo church near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Caught in a relationship with a young male hedonist, the devoted but naïve cleric is seduced into breaking his vow of celibacy. Devastated, Martine feels he must leave the priesthood.
